IDF DESTROYS TERRORISTS POSITIONS IN KHAN YUNIS

Jerusalem----April 10.....The Israel Defense Forces have destroyed Palestinian terrorist weapons, sandbags and buildings used for cover following continuous Palestinian shooting attacks in the area of the community of Neveh Dekalim, including mortar bomb fire. The IDF took these defensive actions to prevent further terror attacks against civilians and soldiers. During the operation, fire was opened towards IDF soldiers and mortar bombs were fired towards civilian communities and positions in Gush Katif. IDF forces returned fire towards the sources of the shooting. The IDF did not suffer any casualties in this operation.

As seen in many recent photographs - the PA continues to use its civilians and children as "human shields".
The IDF states that they are aware of this factor and is doing all that is possible to avoid harming innocent civilians.

The IDF Spokesperson's Office clarified that yesterday's operations are a part of the IDF's continuous mission intended to directly strike the parties responsible for the terror attacks. The Israeli Government and the IDF will not allow terrorist attacks upon it's civilian populations without retaliation against those directly responsible for creating the violence.

IDF TAKES DEFENSIVE ACTION AGAINST TERRORIST TARGETS

Jerusalem-----March 28......The Israel Defense Forces launched a "defensive action" against PLO terrorist targets this evening. The Israeli response was provoked after three terrorist bombing attacks in the past two days claimed the lives of a Jewish baby, children and innocent civilians.

Israel Air Force attack helicopters attacked targets of the PLO's "Force 17" and the "Palestinian Presidential Guard" in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip. The IDF Spokesperson's Office announced this evening: "The IDF will not allow the harming of the citizens of the State of Israel, and the soldiers of the IDF, and will act with all means at its disposal in order to protect their wellbeing and security and to annihilate the terror."

Israel Defense Forces officials said their forces hit one target in Ramallah and four in Gaza, including a weapons storage facility and a training center, as well as the presidential guard headquarters. Raanan Gissin, a Senior Aide to Prime Minister Ariel Sharon stated that The Palestinian Authority was directly responsible for the attacks and will pay for it.

"Those that have committed these atrocious crimes will receive full punishment," he said. "You can rest assured of that." Gissin said that "regrettably" the Palestinian Authority and Arafat who are "gleeing at the Jewish blood that is being spilled" were responsible for the violence. Gissin stopped short of saying that Arafat himself would face retaliatory measures from the Israelis, saying only that "those around him and those who carry out acts of terror will pay the full price."

IDF Spokesperson Brig. General Ron Kitry stated: "This week there were 18 attempted terrorist attacks, of which four were "successful." Three people lost their lives and 47 were wounded. This price can not go overlooked. We are sending a message to Force 17, their superiors, and those responsible for them that we will not tolerate any more terrorist activities. We have the obligation to protect the safety and security of the citizens of Israel. We shall decide upon the time, place, and certainly the means by which we will strike at terrorists and those responsible for terrorism."

Kitry added: "We are not conducting a drawn out campaign against the Palestinian Authority, and certainly not against the Palestinian people whose safety we are interested in protecting. However, whoever engages in terror and perpetrates terrorist activity will feel our long-arm as this evening has proven."
