BARAK MEETS WITH CNN OVER DISTORTED COVERAGE

Jerusalem-----December 13......Prime Minister Ehud Barak met yesterday with representatives of the CNN network in an effort to clarify claims of slanted and one-sided reportage of violence in the territories. Members of the Prime Minister's Office and the Foreign Ministry were present at the meeting, the Hebrew daily "Ma'ariv" reports. The CNN representatives expressed concern at the meeting about reports of American Jews selling off stock in the parent company, Time-Warner, in protest over the network's coverage of the current crisis.

Jewish leaders in the US said they were having some success in convincing CNN to change its reportage on the conflict. CNN has recently stopped airing reports from correspondent Rula Amin in Gaza and ceased referring to the Jerusalem neighborhood of Gilo as a "settlement."
